Fabulous Foodie Fridays #56

Hello and welcome to another gorgeous round of Fabulous Foodie Fridays!

How’s your week been?

Mine’s been a bit all over the place with a wedding anniversary (Zadada and I celebrated 11 years!!), meetings at school, rounding up our escaped cows from the neighbour’s paddock. I did some baking this Slice that eats as good as a carrot cake, this salted caramel sauce and this easy chocolate slice too. Throw into that mix Dr’s visits for 2 of the kidlets, Mr 10 has been suffering chronic mouth ulcers and Miss 4 needed her immunisation, the one that she was supposed to have by the time she was 4 NOT 5, my oversight which was politely brought to my attention by preschool, you’d think by child number 3 I’d have it together, nope (I certainly won’t be in the running for any Mother of the year awards!). The good news is we’re all sorted now……well for this week at least!

My Dad turns 60 this weekend and guess who’s been delegated project birthday cake for his party? Hehehe, I do love a good excuse to bake, I hope to share a picture or 2 with you all next week, fingers crossed the plan in my head comes together!

How time flies……19 years of being in love, 11 of those married, feeling very grateful indeed.

wedding day

Even though my week was a bit all over the place Fabulous Foodie Fridays was rock solid and delicious as always!

I give you my favourite foodie five……….

Rosehips & Rhubarb had my taste buds watering just glancing at this Sticky Coconut and Lime Syrup Cake of hers, if you’ve got yourself some limes that need using up may I suggest this little treasure as your starting point.

Fudge reminds me of holidays so this Chocolate and Walnut Fudge from The Multitasking Mummy had a place it needed to be as soon as I found it (right here). I can’t wait to test it out, I’ll be thinking of the Sunshine Coast and Eumundi markets while I’m doing so!

The kidlets love popcorn, with the NSW school holidays fast approaching (can you believe they’re only 1 week away?!) I predict that there will be a Movie day at home with a side of this Cinnamon Popcorn from Country Life Experiment.

Country life

Noodles never grow old in this house, this Vegetable Noodle Salad from I Spy Plum Pie looks so deliciously colourful and refreshing. What I love most is that it can be enjoyed warm or cold, such a great little treasure lending itself to all 4 seasons of the year!

If you’re looking for a fun delicious way to get more of those leafy greens in your family’s diet (story of my life) these Silverbeet and Kale Feta Rolls from Rebecca Mugridge will have you well and truly sorted! Yum!

  1. I am ALWAYS committing parental oversights, but it all seems to even out in the end. The best kids’ movie I’ve seen lately is Big Hero and we are looking forward to a big watch of Inside Out and Home in the school holidays. x
