Edible Treats For Father’s Day

Edible Treats for Father's day feature

I think homemade food is one of the loveliest gifts you can give to someone. Whether it’s a birthday, Christmas, Easter, a new baby, a sad loss, a new neighbour, Mother’s Day or for this weeks post Father’s day, you can’t go wrong with food.

Knowing your recipients’ weakness  favourite foods will always win you extra brownie points.

I’ve put together a collection of Edible Treats For Father’s Day both savoury and sweet that I know either Zadada or my Dad enjoy, hopefully you’ll find something in my mix for your Dad too.

I’m going to be really disciplined and start with the savoury suggestions…..

This Deconstructed Pumpkin Salad has been inhaled super popular each time I’ve served it at a gathering. I’m not sure what our Father’s day plans are just yet but if we end up staying home for lunch this is on my must make list for one Zadada.

This Oven Baked Risotto with Chicken and Chorizo is a family favourite, another great lunch or dinner option, you could even make it in advance and reheat when you want to serve 😉

If Risotto isn’t Dad’s cup of tea than these Lamb and Rosemary Pies should be. As much as I know Zadada enjoys the Risotto I know how much he loooooooves savoury pies and my Dad is exactly the same. What is it with men and a good meat pie?

I hope you weren’t expecting too many savoury options hehehe but if you were check out my list of dinner options I’ve made, you’re sure to find something there for Dad.

Let’s move on to SWEET shall we?!

Without fail whenever I take these Butterscotch Blondies to a fete or gathering I have people asking where they can find the recipe. Dad loves Butterscotch ice cream…… I’m thinking if I made a batch of these Blondies and folded them through some vanilla ice cream he’d be in butterscotch ice cream heaven, just quietly so would I!

Both Dad and Zadada have a huge soft spot for cheesecake, I’m guessing there’d be quite a few other cheesecake loving dad’s out there too.

Here’s 3 favourites……..

15 Minute Salted Caramel Cheesecakes

15 Minute Ferrero Rocher and Nutella Cheesecake

Cherry Ripe is Zadada’s favourite chocolate bar so I couldn’t leave this Cherry Ripe Cheesecake Slice out.

For all the SUPER CHOCOLATE CRAVING Dad’s out there this Rocky Road Celebration Cake will literally take the cake for a Father’s Day Edible Treat! You don’t have to limit yourself to using milk chocolate either, if you’ve got a dad that loves dark chocolate (Zadada!!!) just substitute dark chocolate for milk and the same goes for white chocolate there’s no right or wrong just stick with the same quantities and you’ll be fine.

Staying true to keeping a healthy balance ( I try where I can)………here’s a healthy edible treat for the no added sugar conscious Dad’s who like to treat themselves to something but with a little less guilt. These Healthy Chocolate Bars are perfect for a brekky on the run or a post workout energy boost!

What ever you’re up to for Father’s day I wish you a weekend ahead of love, memorable moment making and deliciousness!

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing Dad’s out there.

Until the next time……
